Fire Plan Election November 2024
October 23, 2024
Residents of Paloma Creek and Northlake Estates -
When you go to the polls to vote in this year’s November election, there will also be a proposition on the ballot for your Paloma Creek Water Supply District. This proposition requests voter approval of a Fire Protection Plan and Fire Protection Services Contract with the Town of Little Elm.
Currently, the Paloma Creek Districts have a Fire Protection Services Contract with the City of Aubrey. Service is provided out of the Aubrey Fire Station on Navo Road. However, sometime in the next year, Aubrey Fire Department will leaving the Navo Road Station and moving into the new Aubrey Fire Station off FM 1385, adjacent to the ArrowBrooke community.
After this move, the Town of Little Elm’s Fire Station on Navo Road will be the closest option to Paloma Creek and Northlake Estates for Fire Protection Services, minimizing response times during emergencies. The Little Elm Navo Station is constructed to be a two-company station, which means double the firefighters, vehicles, and equipment. Further, Little Elm Fire Department has the lowest possible ISO rating of 1, which should help reduce the costs of homeowners’ insurance in the area. Because of these factors, the Paloma Creek Water Districts determined that Little Elm is the best option and have entered into a contract with Little Elm to provide Fire Protection Services to Paloma Creek, including Northlake Estates.
Texas law requires that a Water District’s Fire Protection Services Contract be approved by the voters of the District, therefore approval of the Little Elm Fire Protection Services Contract is on the ballot for all Paloma Creek and Northlake Estates voters.
